Starting a new business can be very exciting and stressful at the same time. One of the most important aspects about new companies is the addition of a website that is attractive and allows customers to have a positive experience, however there are still areas still being ignored, according to Business Computing World.

The article states that companies tend to use “confusing navigation, are guilty of showing off, forgetting about mobile, trying to be different and often overload their visitors with information.” So, Business Computing World has introduced some tips that will hopefully help new businesses and web designers a way to stay focus on what’s really important.

“Therefore, the most logical place to have your navigational menu bar is at the top of the page, using a simple structure that lists the most important pages prominently, with sub-category pages underneath.

In order to limit showing off, Business Computing World suggests using only two to three colors on your web-page with the same number of font combinations as well. One of the big issues in many new companies is the lack of adaptation for mobile devices. It’s now more common for users to look up the details for a new company on their mobile device than a PC or larger computing device. It’s good practice to make sure that the website is mobile-friendly to allow a smoother browsing ability.

“When it comes to displaying content on a web page, less really is more,” said Sam Butterworth in the article.

“Lengthy pieces of information should be split into small digestible blocks of text of no more than a few lines. Titles and subtitles should be used throughout a webpage so users can find the information they need quickly; and plenty of white space should be left to naturally break up the text.”

With these five ideas in mind new businesses can turn their websites in to a pleasant browsing experience.
