Firefox Deters Ads From Following Your Moves

Private browsing is becoming more of a necessity for users who feel that intrusive ads are becoming a bit overbearing. Long-time browser Firefox has created a way to stop ads from tracking your every move on the internet and the result yields a browsing experience that contains the speed of today with the lack of ads from the past.

Most websites are packing on ads and at times they can be quite troublesome to the browsing experience. Firefox is looking to change that by introducing Tracking Protection.

“We’re releasing a powerful new feature in Firefox Private Browsing called Tracking Protection,” according to Nick Nguyen of Firefox.

“We created this feature because we believe in giving you more choice and control over your Web experience. With the release of Tracking Protection in Firefox Private Browsing we are leading the industry by giving you control over the data that third parties receive from you online.”

The company believes that their browser is superior when it comes to protecting the user and Tracking Protection is one of the ways they aim to convince internet browsers.

“We first added Private Browsing to Firefox to give you control over your privacy locally by not saving your browser history and cookies when you close a private window,” according to the Firefox blogpost.

“However, when you browse the Web, you can unknowingly share information about yourself with third parties that are separate from the site you’re actually visiting, even in Private Browsing mode on any browser. Until today.”

This does raise the question as to how websites and advertisers plan on getting around the tracking protection. There are websites the depend on ads while others provide a smoother browsing experience. Should advertisers be worried?
